The Chicago & Illinois Midland Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society was founded in 1991 and meets on the 2nd Sunday each month at 2 p.m. (except holidays) in the Chatham Railroad Museum.
In addition to monthly meetings, the chapter sponsors the Chatham Rail-A-Rama (train show), the Loco-Motion Cruise-In for vehicles of all types, Santa At The Depot for children, and periodically participates in other activities. Members receive our quarterly newsletter, The Expediter, plus periodic on-line updates. They also receive the NRHS Bulletin, NRHS News plus a listing of rail attractions offering discounts to members. More NRHS info is available on their website.
The Village of Chatham owns the building and the C&IM chapter manages the museum, founded in 1999. There is no admission fee, but donations are always welcome.
The museum is open the 2nd and 4th Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., except holidays. Contact us to arrange other times to visit.
